MARINA AND DOCK PERMITTING

Woods Consulting specializes in the design and permitting of Multi-Family docks and commercial marina projects. Our expertise in Pinellas County arose because of the complexity of the Pinellas County Aquatic Preserve Rules outlined in the Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.). Woods Consulting provides turn-key assistance by designing a dock to meet all applicable permitting codes, filing of all the required permit applications, and coordinating the permit review process through the local, state and federal permitting agencies. When Marinas or Multi-Family docks are located on State-Owned submerged land, Woods Consulting will also assist in obtaining a new or modified submerged land lease if required.

The Permitting Agencies include: the Pinellas County Water & Navigation Control Authority, other Navigation Control Authorities, the Florida Water Management Districts, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tampa Port Authority, other Port Authorities, and the many municipalities that permit docks in Florida. There are also many ancillary agencies that will comment on State and Federal dock applications. These agencies include: the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, the National Marine Fisheries, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Coast Guard. Due to the many protected and endangered species found in Florida Waters, the ancillary agencies will review, comment and often ask questions that must be addressed during permitting in order for State and Federal permits to be approved.
