ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING

Permitting in Florida Waters is not always an equal part of “project design” and an equal part of “permitting”. In the Pinellas County Aquatic Preserve, permitting can be a long and arduous process. There are many challenges to balancing the needs of property owners and fulfilling permit requirements that are imposed by the local, state and federal agencies.

Most permit reviewers are environmental scientists and biologists whose purpose is to review a dock, marina or dredge/fill application for impacts to protected species. Our environmental consultant can assist design teams in ways to avoid and/or minimize impacts to protected species to shorten permitting time frames to begin work sooner. Protected species in Florida waters include the West Indian Manatee, Seagrass beds, Oysters, Green Sea Turtles, the Smalltooth Sawfish and Corals.
